The first article I found is from the Encyclopedia of Childhood & Adolescence. This article talks about child developement as it relates to the information processing theory. It goes through the basis of information theory and two pioneers of this theory, D.E. Broadbent and Robert Siegler. It also talks about the computer analogy that we've studied in class.
The second article, Structuring Information to Enhance Human Information Processing and Decision Style, was found in the Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal in the Walden Library database (Sage Journals database). This article states how and why pretesting/posttesting is imporant because it measures changes in information processing complexity, decision rule complexity, and decision time orientation. The study in this article goes over how graduated complexity increases understanding.

Instructional Design Sites & Blogs
The first site that I came upon is Instructional Design & Developement Blog by the IDD department at DePaul University. My concentration is in Online Learning. I chose this blog site because it has alot of interesting topics regarding elearning that could be beneficial to my path as an instructional designer. I feel that some of the contributors on the site reference and expand on many of the articles that we cover in class. The IDD site also introduces many programs and technologies that I am not familiar with.
The next site I chose was The Rapid E-learning Blog. I like this site because it discusses and breaks down the overall aspects of Instructional Design in layman's term. This site is easy for me to relate and understand especially since my background is not in education.
The third site, Instructional Design, to me is something could use as a go to all reference. It talks about ID from a technological and programming point of view, which I find exciting considering my background in programming. It has lists different types of instructiional design models and short bios of notable instructional designers. The only drawback for me is that not all the links work and need to be updated.
